Gundam 30th Anniversary: Reverse!!!
Bandai/Sunrise decided to backwards back to UC 0081 for this Gundam 30th anniversary. I was expecting something different here, at least a Gundam Unicorn series or a 3rd season of SEED. However, there are notable improvements in character design, though the heavy armour nightmare begins to haunt me again. I hate MS with excessive armours till it looks so fat, and i’d prefer to see giant MA that docks with MS. Well, this is probably because it is the anniversary of the original series. Despite complaints, i’ll, we’ll, all the the Gundam fans despite what their favourite series will still watch it right? Haha… Let’s get to the point…
So far, this series does not have a confirmed name yet, set in U.C. 0081, 1 year after the war where the world is regaining peace. However, small-scale battles from resisting Zeon remnants continued in various places. The Earth Federation are conducting out a clean-up operation on these Zeon remnants to solve this problem. Caught in the midst, is a verteran Earth Federation soldier with is assigned to this operation. On the opposite side of the battlefield, are a group of young Zeon officers executing their secret strategy for the revival of Zeon.
Below are the rest of the details regarding this upcoming new series:
Mechanic Design: Katoki Hajime
Character Design: Suzuki Tatsuya
Male. Age 32.
A veteran officer; leads the Phantom Sweep special forces unit hunting for Zeon remnants; has a bitter experience in which his unit was annihilated in the past.
Female. Age 24.
Serving as a test pilot but was assigned to the special forces unit as a replacement.
_ Erik Blanque
Male. Age 20.
A young officer whose family is a distinguished family in the Principality of Zeon. He takes command of the “Invincible Knights” in order to execute a counterattack operation against the Earth Federation Forces.
The FA-78-3 Full Armor 7th Gundam is the armor-equipped space combat version of the RX-78-7 7th Gundam. Unlike the previous FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam, the Full Armor 7th Gundam is able to fight without any drop in performance. This is accomplished with the addition of sub generators and propellant tanks in the Full Armor components. The emphasis of the Full Armor components is offensive power rather than defensive power. This is reflected in the armaments, which include vulcan guns, beam sabers, hand beam guns and a beam shot cannon. However, since the One Year War ends with only the 7th Gundam’s basic frame being completed, the Full Armor components are never built. Incidentally, the name does not mean “Full Armor Gundam #7″ but rather “Gundam #7 Full Armor parts.” There are only two previous Full Armor Gundams: the FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam and the FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam.
As the focus of the One Year War shifts into space, the Earth Federation begins designing a new Gundam for space combat, and the end result is the RX-78-7 7th Gundam. The 7th Gundam is designed to equip Full Armor parts, and as a result the body is covered with mounting latches. The powerplant is more powerful than that of the RX-78-2 Gundam, however, there are sub generators installed in the Full Armour parts to not allow a drop in useable time. The body is in the class of the RX-78NT-1 Gundam “Alex” and is similarly equipped with magnetic coating and a panoramic monitor/linear seat cockpit. Unfortunately, the One Year War ends with only the basic frame of the 7th Gundam completed.

Well, i’ve gone though many forums and Gunota as well, and most of their replies were the same.
SHUT THE F*** UP ABOUT U.C. AND DO SOMETHING ELSE NEW!!!
No doubt, if they really want to do something about UC again, either Gundam Unicorn, or the series version of F91 or Crossbone. No matter how many series about U.C. comes out, it is the same story. Federation and Zeon/Titans whooping the hell out of each other, and attempts to ‘burn’ the earth by using nuclear arms, blowing up space colonies and drop them in earth etc.
And, using outdated MS in this new series agitates me as well.
Sunrise decided to cater the ‘oldies’ because most UC fans are adults in Japan. UC dates back to 1979.
